About Me

How’d I get here: English teacher and mentor teacher to learning designer…how did that happen? The short answer - a lot of career exploration and reflection. After spending 15 rewarding years teaching, something interesting started to happen. I noticed that with each role I took on, I found myself in the position of providing professional development for my peers. Whether it was mentoring new teachers or leading workshops on innovative teaching methods, I was constantly seeking ways to engage adult learners and help them excel in their craft. Then, the pandemic hit, and everything changed. Suddenly, I found myself thrust into the role of eLearning expert within my school community. As we navigated the challenges of remote learning, I became the go-to person for eLearning best practices. I trained my fellow teachers on how to effectively engage secondary learners in the virtual classroom, drawing from my years of experience and passion for empowering educators.

These experiences sparked something within me. They ignited a curiosity and passion for instructional design that I hadn't fully realized before, so I began to explore this new career path, eager to leverage my expertise in teaching and mentoring to create impactful learning experiences on a broader scale.
What I bring to the table: With a background in education I am well versed in learning theories, assessment strategies and psychological insight. I bring a unique blend of skills to design impactful learning experiences tailored to diverse needs. My empathetic approach allows me to understand learners on a deeper level, fostering engagement and trust. By leveraging these abilities, I can help organizations create transformative educational solutions that empower individuals and drive organizational growth.

The fun stuff: When I’m not lost in a state of flow creating eLearnings, you can find me practicing yoga, hiking with my family, reading a good book, or watching the Steelers.
